Do you have a Cool skin tone?

If you have a blue/cool undertone to your skin then you have a COOL skin tone.

Strangely enough, a blue undertone shows as a pink toned complexion!

The undertone is the layer under your skin which influences the overall look of your natural coloring and it always stays the same.

This is entirely different to the color of your complexion which is the color of your skin and can be Light, Medium or Dark.

Look to the image above where it shows many familiar faces all with a Cool undertone showing some pink tones to their complexion.

The depth of their skin will usually influence the strength of the Cool colors that flatter their natural coloring and those they choose to wear. 

How to tell a COOL skin tone

However light or deep your skin, you are likely to recognize several (rarely all) of these factors if your skin is COOL. 

You're instinctively drawn towards Cool colors

Nature always gets it right and, with a COOL skin tone you'll be  instinctively drawn towards Cool colors.

You will probably include ivory, dusky pinks, soft blues and silver or champage accents in your home decor rather than warm golds and autumn colors.  

You'll favor pinks over yellow and orange in your bouquet. Do you see how the green leave harmonize so well with the roses? They are from the same color palette. 

Wearing clothes and makeup from your own color family means that you can get your 'foliage' right too.

You might be SUMMER, COOL or WINTER...

If you have a Cool skin tone, however light or deep your complexion, then colors with the same blue/cool undertone as your own will flatter your best.

There are 3 main color families with COOL undertones - SUMMER, COOL and WINTER. The colors are all very similar but get increasingly stronger.

Familiar faces with Cool coloring

Your coloring may not be exactly the same as these familiar faces. You may have lighter or deeper hair; fair to light brown, medium to deep ash brown or a strong silver.

Your complexion will always have a touch of pink, although not always initially visible and your eyes will undoubtedly have a gray cast.
