Still an Hourglass - it's Shape not Size!

Chosen for you!

Hi!

I know I WAS an hourglass, but now, I'm not so sure. I'm 63, 158cm (5ft, 2) tall, and weigh about 76kg (168lb).
Measurements are: Bust 121cm (47.6ins); Waist 104cm (40.9ins - and it's high, about level with my 3rd to last rib); Hip 120cm (47.2ins)

So yeah, I'm short and fat. My tummy is big, my hips would be curved, but they're lumpy, with two distinct bulges.

I can't wear high heels, but could manage a low heel I think.

What on earth do I wear to look elegant, sophisticated and classy, while still being comfortable???

Hi there KB

Well it appears that you have gained weight evenly all over and your measurements show that you still have that hourglass figure!

It's always size not shape that counts!

The fact that you're a petite lady is often a bigger problem as dresses will often appear to swamp you!

A dress always says elegance. So for both an hourglass figure and a petite lady I would often suggest that you try a wrap dress. This will define your waistline and usually enable you to tie it in a comfortable position if your waist is high.

As well as defining your waist, you need to keep vertical lines in mind to elongate your figure. So an open neckline is a brilliant start, a high waistline and a dress that is not voluminous over the hips but comfortably flared enough to drape softly over your curves and give you vertical lines.

I've looked to see what is available locally for you and have chosen 3 dresses that you might like to take a look at from shops Romey and K & K.

I couldn't find a wrap dress but I did find 3 dresses that fit the bill.

From a store called K & K I have chosen this gorgeous print dress with a V neckline and a buttoned front - always a good vertical line. Also this elegant dress and jacket, along with a high waist the print of the jacket keeps the attention high which will help you to look taller.

From another store, I found this feminine dress which is extremely flattering and soft.

Always be aware to choose a dress that can be shortened. All the dresses would be lovely be a low kitten heel or even wedge sandals to add height and presence.

Hope this helps you KB

kind regards
Pamela
