Why is a CHOCOLATE CAKE recipe on a Color and Style website?
Because this website is about how to FEEL GOOD and LOOK GOOD!
I love to eat healthily and I love chocolate cake - so what better way to enjoy without gorging on fat and sugar!
And presumably most of you like to do the same so a healthy recipe follows the right formula for us all.
As I've got older I find that weight creeps on much more easily so unless I want to adopt a fitness campaign I have to watch what I'm eating.
I like my food and you know us Brits we need something for 4 o'clock tea-time - so what's better than a CHOCOLATE CAKE?
tin drained chickpeas (yes chickpeas bizarre!)
3 eggs whisked
1 tbsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp golden syrup or maple syrup
28g cocoa powder
1 cup sweetener
1 tsp baking powder
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth, pour into greased microwave bowl. Cook on high for about 7 mins.
World - well OK count 1 syn for the syrup and 1 syn for the cocoa, 0.5 for the baking powder - i.e. that's 2.5 syns for the whole cake - I can live with that.
There's some discrepancy between Consultants over whether the chickpeas should be synned or not, but to me, it's like eating a portion of chickpeas with my lunch and it keeps me going until dinner time.
I use a 7" round flan dish, double up the mixture to make 2 cakes. Sandwich together with Nutella spread, on top as well if you like - it makes quite a show-stopper for a birthday or any occasion. (Nutella is ony 1.5 syns for 1 teaspoon)
