Why every woman should know her PINK!
How to choose the most flattering makeup for Warm or Cool coloring

Pink may seem like one of the easiest makeup shades to wear, but in reality it can be surprisingly tricky.

Some pinks are WARM with peachy, coral or apricot undertones. Others are COOL with rose, berry or blue-based tones.

Some pinks are LIGHT and delicate, others are DEEP and intense - there's a vast range of shades from the softer pale pinks through to richer more saturated hues.

The truth is, pink is never just PINK!

One pink lipstick can make you look fresh, polished and full of life. Another can leave you looking washed out, tired or just slightly “off,” even when the shade looked lovely in the tube. If that has ever happened to you, you're not imagining it!

And because makeup sits so close to the face, those differences matter a great deal.

That is why I think every woman should know her best PINK!

PINK is not one simple color!

Pink has a reputation for being soft, feminine and easy but, when it comes to makeup, that description is far from true.

The right pink can bring light to the face, make the skin look clearer and add a lovely healthy freshness. The wrong pink can do exactly the opposite. It can look too harsh, too sugary, too pale or simply not in harmony with you. It's one of those shades that can reveal very quickly whether it works with your natural coloring or not.

That doesn't mean pink is difficult. It simply means that there's a 'helluva' lot more than one kind of pink and, finding your own version makes all the difference!

Every Woman has a best PINK

Every woman should know her pink2

This is the part I think many women miss.

It's not really a question of whether you can wear pink, it's a question of which shades of pink suit you best.

If you have ever said "Pink doesn’t suit me”, there's a very good chance that the pink itself was not the problem. More likely, it was the undertone.

Some women look wonderful in a wide range of WARM pinks that have a soft peachy or coral glow. Others come alive in a wide range of COOL pinks with a rosy, berry or slightly blue cast. Once you find the right color family, pink becomes much easier to wear and much more flattering too.

You'll find it very easy to discover your best pink if you take a look at the differences between Warm or Cool.

What makes PINK Warm or Cool?

Every woman should know her pink 3

Warm pinks contain a touch of sunshine. They usually have hints of peach, coral, apricot, salmon or golden warmth in them. These pinks often look gentle, healthy and softly radiant on women with warm coloring.

Cool pinks are clearer and rosier. They may contain blue, rose, mauve, berry or violet undertones. These shades often look fresh, refined and brightening on women with cool coloring.

Both can be beautiful. The important thing is not whether a pink is fashionable or popular, but whether it relates naturally to your own coloring.

That's what gives makeup an effortless look!

Why the wrong PINK can age you!

This matters even more over 50.

As we get older, the shades we wear near the face can have a stronger effect than they once did. The wrong pink can make the complexion look dull, tired, chalky or overdone. A pink that's too icy or too bright can feel unkind. One that is too sugary can sometimes look less elegant than we had hoped.

The right pink, on the other hand, can be wonderfully flattering. It can soften the face, bring a touch of vitality to the skin and make the whole look feel fresher and more polished.

That's why it's important to know your best PINK! It's one of the easiest beauty changes to make, but certainly one of the most rewarding.

How to start finding your PINK

Comparing warm pinks with cool pinks #everywomanneedspink #knowyourpink https://www.style-yourself-confident.com/every-woman-should-know-her-pink.htmlThere are thousands of shades of pink just like an artist's palette

If you already know whether your coloring is warm or cool, that gives you a helpful starting point.

If you don't know, then pink can actually be a lovely place to begin.

Try comparing a WARM pink and a COOL pink near your face in natural daylight. A warm pink may lean peachy or coral. A cool pink may lean rose or berry. One of them will usually make your skin look brighter, smoother and more alive. The other may seem to sit on the face rather than blend with it.

Lipstick and blush are often the easiest products to test because they have such an immediate effect.

If peachy pink makes you look healthier, warmer pinks may be your best direction.
If rosy pink makes you look fresher and clearer, cooler pinks may suit you better.

And it's not often said, but most women are inclined towards one way or the other. So trust your own inclinations initially or take a look at the Free Color Analysis Quiz.

One of the nicest things about understanding your pink is that it often opens the door to the rest of your makeup palette too.

If warm pink suits you, you're likely to enjoy peach, coral, apricot, warm rose and soft terracotta-based tones together with warm neutrals for eyes.

If cool pink is your best, rose, berry, mauve, plum and blue-based reds may be the shades that work most beautifully for you with cool neutrals for eyes.

So pink is not just a pretty makeup choice. It's the perfect way to understand the rest of your makeup palette and the whole color palette for your wardrobe.

The PINK that loves you back!

Pink can be fresh, feminine, elegant, modern, and flattering at any age. The secret is simply finding the pink that belongs with you.

Once you know your pink, makeup becomes easier to choose and much more enjoyable to wear. And often, that one small discovery is enough to make your whole face look brighter, softer, and more alive.
